All about Membership

Categories of Membership

• There shall be the general category of Ordinary Member, and such other membership categories determined by NEC.

Resignation of Membership

• A member shall resign or be deemed to have resigned if he/she: i. Conducts himself/herself in a manner that brings the Party to disrepute.
• Submits to the Party office a letter of resignation duly signed and a copy of his or her National Identity Card or valid Passport.
• Promotes the activities of another Political Party with no formal arrangement for collaboration with KUP.
• Contravenes Party Ideology, Aims, Policies, Objects, and the Code of Conduct for Leaders or the Pledge of Commitment.
• Forms another Political Party.
• Joins in the formation of another Political Party.
• Joins another Political Party.
• In any way or manner, publicly advocates for the formation of another Political Party.

Rights of Members.

• They shall enjoy the Political Rights of citizens enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya and in the Party's constitution.

Duties of Members.

• Adhere to the Party Constitution and any other rules and regulations formulated by the Party Organs.
• Subscribe to KUP ideology, vision, aims and objects.
• Participate in the election of Party officials according to KUP Party Election Rules, Regulations and Procedures.
• Participate in the nomination of Party candidates for all elective positions in accordance with KUP Elections/Nomination Rules and Procedures
• Regularly, actively and effectively participate in all Party members meetings and activities.
• Shall participate in Party outreach and membership recruitment drives.
• Contribute to the Party both time and resources.
• Demonstrate commitment and loyalty to the Party.
• Voluntarily pay membership fee and annual subscription fee.
• be loyal and dedicated marketing agent of the Party.
• Be committed to implement all Party resolutions and positions
• Conduct himself/ herself with respect and decorum.
• Campaign and Vote for the Party's candidates at the General Elections and/or by-election.
• Be a responsible member of the Party and a responsible citizen of the Nation.
• Defend the legitimate policies and leadership of the Party.
